Spatiotemporal Variability in Total Dissolved Solids and Total Suspended Solids along the Colorado River

چکیده

The Colorado River is a principal source of water for 40 million people and farmlands in seven states the western US Republic Mexico. river has been under intense pressure from effects climate change anthropogenic activities associated with population growth leading to elevated total dissolved solid (TDS) suspended (TSS) concentrations. Elevated TDS- TSS-related issues basin have direct negative impact on usage ecological health aquatic organisms. This study, therefore, analyzed spatiotemporal variability TDS TSS concentrations along river. Results our analysis show that concentration was significantly higher Upper Basin while Lower shows generally high level TSSs. We found these two basins are distinctive may be factor variations. Kruskal–Wallis significance test there statistically significant differences TDSs TSSs month month, season season, year year. These variations largely due seasonal rises consumptive use, agriculture practices, snowmelts runoffs, evaporate rates exacerbated by increased temperature summer months. findings this study will aid understanding river’s quality, detecting sources hotspots pollutions river, guiding legislative actions. knowledge obtained forms strong basis management conservation efforts consequently helps reduce economic damage caused quality parameters including over USD 300 damages.

Evaluation the Correlation between Turbidity and Total Suspended Solids with other Chemical Parameters in Yazd Wastewater Treatment Effluent Plant

Introduction: Expensive chemical tests are usually applied to control the efficiency of wastewater treatment plants. However, the cost of measuring these parameters is one of the challenges of the wastewater treatment plants. Using statistical methods has been evaluated for possibility of calculating expensive parameters by measuring the inexpensive parameters in this study. Materials and Meth...

Surrogate Measures for Providing High Frequency Estimates of Total Suspended Solids and Total Phosphorus Concentrations

Surrogate measures like turbidity, which can be observed with high frequency in situ, have potential for generating high frequency estimates of total suspended solids (TSS) and total phosphorus (TP) concentrations. In the semiarid, snowmelt-driven, and irrigation-regulated Little Bear River watershed of northern Utah, high frequency in situ water quality measurements were recorded in conjunctio...

Analysis of Total Suspended Solids and Dissolved Oxygen Concentrations of the Algal- Bacterial Selenium Removal (ABSR) system

The Algal-Bacterial Selenium Removal (ABSR) system has been very effective at removing Selenium from agricultural drainage water that enters the water systems of the San Joaquin Valley, CA. Although selenium levels are significantly lower in the effluent of the ABSR system, Dissolved Oxygen (DO) levels in effluent water have been found to be significantly lower than normal. If DO levels dip und...
